Ablution Cleaner (Shopping Centre)

Early starts, clear routines and a steady contract at an university campus in Richards Bay. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at an university campus in Richards Bay. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Set up and clear boardrooms before and after meetings
• Empty bins and take waste to the correct recycling or general skip
• Clean the kitchenette, wash cups and wipe down the fridge and microwave
• Refill toilet paper, hand towel and soap dispensers
• Run a scrubber-dryer machine on large tiled areas
• Wipe desks, door handles, lift buttons and light switches

• Grade 10 or higher
• Clean criminal record for most corporate sites
• Honest, because you work around laptops and personal items
• Able to stand, bend and walk for a full shift
• You take pride in a job done properly, even when nobody checks

• Supervisory experience for team leader posts
• Tea service or kitchen experience
• Previous contract cleaning experience with a reference

• Uniform and cleaning gloves provided
• Paid overtime for weekend deep cleans
• UIF and paid leave under the cleaning sector rules
• Permanent contract once the site contract is secured

• Arrive neat and early for the interview. It is a small test of how you will arrive for a 05:00 shift.
• Ask a former supervisor if you can put their number on your CV. Cleaning contractors almost always phone a reference.
