Access Control Officer (Grade C) – Entry Level

The gate at a distribution warehouse in Gqeberha is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Gqeberha. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Previous experience at a similar site type
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Provident fund contributions
• Stable long-term site contracts
