Job Description

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for an online tutoring platform in Isando. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Isando-based, with most of your time spent at an online tutoring platform. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing

You'll need

Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Own transport for home tutoring posts
Police clearance for work with minors
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor

Nice if you have

Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
Remedial or learning support training

On offer

Work from home on online posts
Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
Flexible hours you choose each week

Applying, step by step

Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: academic transcript showing your subject marks plus proof of current studies or completed qualification.
Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 9 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Isando.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

Lead with your own mark in the subject, such as "Maths 89% (NSC)"; tutoring agencies filter by marks.
List exactly which afternoons you're free, because timetable fit decides most tutoring bookings.
