Accounts Payable Administrator (Group Finance)

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a family-owned manufacturer in Johannesburg CBD. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a family-owned manufacturer in Johannesburg CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Load supplier payments on internet banking for authorisation
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Reconcile bank accounts daily and clear unallocated items
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Matric with Accounting
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Understanding of VAT input and output rules

• Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution or QuickBooks
• Experience with inventory costing in a trading business

• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
