Job Description

Take on a real caseload and build your name at a mid-sized commercial law firm in Welkom. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll be based at a mid-sized commercial law firm in Welkom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
Draft and review contracts, shareholder agreements and legal opinions
Appear in the magistrate's court, CCMA, Labour Court or High Court as your matters need
Track legislation changes that affect clients' businesses
Review company processes for POPIA and privacy compliance

Must-haves

Strong drafting and legal research
Sound judgement under deadline pressure
Enrolled with the Legal Practice Council and holding a current Fidelity Fund certificate if you handle trust money
At least 2 years of post-admission experience in the relevant field

Helpful, not essential

Experience on bank or insurer panels
LLM or postgraduate certificate in your specialist area
