Job Description

A manufacturing plant training room in Durban Central needs a facilitator who can teach, assess and keep the paperwork audit-ready. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

  • Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
  • Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
  • Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
  • Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides
  • Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
  • Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
  • Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

Must-haves

  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
  • Own transport for training at client sites
  • Good report writing and record keeping

Helpful, not essential

  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
  • SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience
  • Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
