Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher

An independent primary school in Brits needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll report in Brits. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams

• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach

• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
• Coaching experience in a major school sport
