Job Description

Teach at an independent primary school in Gqeberha where your planning, marking and patience all count. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Gqeberha. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

  • Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
  • Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
  • Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
  • Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
  • Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct

You'll need

  • At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
  • Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
  • A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
  • Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
