Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher – Permanent

Teach at a rural combined school in Paarl where your planning, marking and patience all count. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Paarl. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching

• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
