You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at an independent primary school in Pretoria West. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

This post is Pretoria West-based, with most of your time spent at an independent primary school. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching

• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
• Coaching experience in a major school sport

• Add your matric results or pass rates for your classes if they improved; hard numbers beat adjectives.
• Mention the extra-murals you can run, as smaller schools often choose the teacher who can also coach.
