Afrikaans First Additional Language Teacher – Immediate Start

Teach at a rural combined school in Vereeniging where your planning, marking and patience all count. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a rural combined school in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines

• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase

• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
• Coaching experience in a major school sport
• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
