Agricultural Diesel Mechanic (Tractors & Harvesters)

You'll service and repair heavy diesel vehicles for the earthmoving plant hire company in eMalahleni. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Home base is an earthmoving plant hire company on the eMalahleni side of Mpumalanga.

• Diagnose electronic engine faults with a heavy-duty diagnostic laptop
• Overhaul brake systems, including air valves, chambers and slack adjusters
• Service trucks and trailers on the planned maintenance schedule
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck
• Repair hydraulics on tippers, cranes and tail-lifts

• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
• Solid understanding of air brake systems
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Experience with electronic diagnostics on modern diesel engines
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits

• PrDP for road tests with loaded vehicles
• Auto electrical skills

• Provident fund and funeral cover
• Heavy-duty tools supplied by the workshop
• Overtime available most weeks
