Air-Conditioning Technician (Split & VRF Systems) – Immediate Start

The air-conditioning maintenance company in Boksburg needs an HVAC technician who knows both the electrical side and the refrigerant side. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at an air-conditioning maintenance company in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers
• Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits
• Install split units, cassettes and ducted systems, including brazing and vacuum work
• Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
• Clean coils, replace filters and check drain lines on scheduled services
• Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
• Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes

• Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
• Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
• Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
• Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road

• Experience with VRF systems or chillers
• Transport refrigeration units on trucks and trailers
• Building management system alarm handling

• Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns
• Company vehicle with a fitted tool rack
• Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you
• Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges

• Your SAQCC Gas card must be current. Put the expiry date on your CV so nobody has to ask.
• Say which refrigerants and system types you have worked on. A recruiter for supermarket work wants to see CO2 or large rack systems.
