Air-Conditioning Technician (Split & VRF Systems)

Keep cold rooms cold and offices cool for the cold chain logistics company in Isando. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Isando-based, with most of your time spent at a cold chain logistics company. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Respond to temperature alarms from cold rooms before stock is lost
• Diagnose faulty compressors, fans, contactors and control boards
• Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
• Recover refrigerant into cylinders and log every kilogram used
• Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers

• Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
• Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road
• SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate

• CO2 transcritical refrigeration experience in retail stores
• Building management system alarm handling
• Experience with VRF systems or chillers

• Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you
• Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns
• Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges
• Company vehicle with a fitted tool rack

• Mention whether you are comfortable on standby. Most service jobs in this trade include it.
• Your SAQCC Gas card must be current. Put the expiry date on your CV so nobody has to ask.
