Job Description

Sharp eyes and a calm voice are the tools of the trade at a remote video monitoring centre in Hammarsdale. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is in Hammarsdale (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

The work, day to day

Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
Keep call-out times and client passwords up to date
Pull and save video footage for incident investigations

What you need

No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
Matric
Clear speaking voice on radio and phone

Nice if you have

Experience on a CCTV or alarm monitoring platform
Speaking more than one local language
CCTV operator short course
