Armed Escort Officer

You'll answer alarms across a suburban residential area in Hammarsdale in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Hammarsdale. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• At least 2 years in guarding or response

• Advanced driving course
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
