Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a mixed-use neighbourhood in Benoni, you are the one who arrives first. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

You'll report in Benoni. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

Must-haves

PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
At least 2 years in guarding or response
Calm under pressure and physically fit
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

Nice if you have

SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
Advanced driving course
