Job Description

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a suburban residential area in Vanderbijlpark. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a suburban residential area on the Vanderbijlpark side of Gauteng. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

What you need

Calm under pressure and physically fit
Clean criminal record and no pending cases
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)

Nice if you have

First-aid Level 2 or 3
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
