Armed Reaction Officer (Business Parks)

You'll answer alarms across a suburban residential area in Ballito in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Ballito; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances
• Regular refresher shooting practice

• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
