Armed Reaction Officer (Business Parks) – Experienced

Serious work for a serious officer: armed response across a business park in Pietermaritzburg. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

• Advanced driving course
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Danger and night allowances
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
