Armed Response Officer (Residential Patrols)

You'll answer alarms across a mixed-use neighbourhood in Boksburg in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

The work is in Boksburg, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Drive the response vehicle safely at speed to client addresses

• Calm under pressure and physically fit
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• At least 2 years in guarding or response

• Advanced driving course
• Knowledge of the local streets and sectors
• First-aid Level 2 or 3

• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Danger and night allowances
• Regular refresher shooting practice
• Group life cover through the provident fund

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
