Job Description

Planned maintenance, breakdowns and shutdowns: steady artisan work at the coal mine engineering workshop near Rustenburg. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a coal mine engineering workshop on the Rustenburg side of North West. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
Carry out planned maintenance on loaders, drill rigs and utility vehicles
Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages
Take part in weekend shutdowns for major overhauls
Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers

Must-haves

Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster
Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)

Nice if you have

Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress
SAP PM module experience
