Assembly Line Worker (Furniture Plant)

Here in Ballito, an industrial bakery needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Ballito; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

• Some basic first-aid training
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
