Assembly Line Worker (Furniture Plant) – Entry Level

You'll keep the line running at a snack food factory in George, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in George. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines

• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
