Job Description

Machines set the pace at this industrial bakery in Rosslyn; you keep up and catch the faults. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Rosslyn; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

The work, day to day

  • Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
  • Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
  • Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
  • Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
  • Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe

You'll need

  • Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
  • Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
  • Available for rotating day and night shifts
  • No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
  • Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
  • Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

Helpful, not essential

  • NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
  • Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
  • Some basic first-aid training

On offer

  • Company transport on some night shifts
  • Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
  • Path to machine operator after six months
  • Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

How to apply

  1. Make sure the role, the hours and working in Rosslyn really suit you before you apply.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): CV listing any factory or packing work, even short-term plus your latest school results or matric certificate.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 10 working days.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

  • Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
  • Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
