Assessor and Moderator (Services SETA)

Stand in front of a class of adults at a private higher education college in Johannesburg CBD and make the work make sense. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a private higher education college on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.

• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
• Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
• Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
• Develop lesson plans, case studies and assessment guides

• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
• Own transport for training at client sites

• Travel allowance or company car for site training
• Paid re-registration with your SETA
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges

• For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
