Job Description

You'll train adult learners at an accredited training provider in Mbombela and get them through their qualification. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at an accredited training provider in Mbombela. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

The work, day to day

  • Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
  • Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
  • Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
  • Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
  • Facilitate classroom and workplace sessions against the learning programme
  • Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments

What you need

  • Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
  • Registered assessor, with moderator registration for moderator posts
  • Good report writing and record keeping

What's in it for you

  • Paid re-registration with your SETA
  • Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
  • Travel allowance or company car for site training

Applying, step by step

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): certified copy of your identity document, sample of a lesson plan or assessment guide you wrote plus certified copy of your highest qualification.
  3. Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
  4. If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 9 working days, usually by phone.

How to stand out

  • Say which unit standards or occupational qualifications you're registered for; this decides where you can be used.
  • For TVET posts, attach your teaching qualification too, as colleges score it during shortlisting.
