Assistant Accountant (Audit Firm Client Services)

A national retail chain head office in Germiston needs an accountant who can close fast and explain the variances. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a national retail chain head office in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries
• Run the month-end close and prepare the trial balance
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance commentary
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

• At least 3 years of post-qualification accounting experience
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Strong Excel skills, including large data sets and lookups
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased

• Power BI or a similar BI tool
• Completed articles at an audit firm
• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
