Job Description

You'll run the site day to day for the civil engineering contractor in East London, from setting out to handover. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

The work is in East London, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

What your day looks like

Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date

What you need

At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

Helpful, not essential

Concrete technology short course
Worked on CIDB grade 6 or higher projects
