Assistant Site Agent (Roads & Stormwater)

You'll run the site day to day for the retail and commercial builder in Mamelodi, from setting out to handover. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a retail and commercial builder on the Mamelodi side of Gauteng. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Coordinate subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, roofing and glazing
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level
• Order concrete, bricks and steel on time so gangs never stand idle
• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection

• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• Firm with labour, fair with subcontractors
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
