Au Pair / Nanny (After-School Care)

Steady household work in a guesthouse with family quarters in Rosslyn, with clear days and hours agreed upfront. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a guesthouse with family quarters on the Rosslyn side of Gauteng.

• Prepare simple meals or school lunches when asked
• Dust furniture, ornaments and skirting boards
• Wash, hang, iron and fold the household's laundry
• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas on a weekly rotation
• Change bed linen and make beds
• Clean windows and patio doors once a week
• Help an elderly person with meals, medication reminders and light walking

• Good with children and patient
• South African ID or valid work permit
• Willing to follow the family's house rules and routines
• Neat, organised and able to work without being supervised

• Registered for UIF and COIDA by the employer
• Paid annual leave and public holidays as the law requires
• Written contract with fixed hours and duties

• Families hire on trust, so make references your strongest part. Write the employer's name, suburb, years worked and phone number for each one.
• Say plainly what you can and cannot do: cooking, ironing, childcare, driving. It avoids arguments later and families like honesty.
