Barista & Floor Waitron

You'll look after tables at a hotel restaurant in Tembisa, from the first greeting to the final bill. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a hotel restaurant in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.

• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Quick with basic maths and card machines

• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Paid menu and wine tastings so you can sell with confidence
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly

• Put the names of the restaurants you worked at and your average covers per shift at the top of your CV.
• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
