Boilermaker (Mine Surface Workshop) – Fixed-Term

You'll keep machines, conveyors and shafts running at the platinum mine engineering department near Burgersfort. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Burgersfort. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers
• Complete job cards and work orders in SAP after each task
• Guide and teach an artisan assistant on the job
• Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
• Order spares and track them through the engineering store
• Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages

• Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
• Willing to do standby and call-outs on a roster
• N3 certificate or Grade 12 with maths and science
• At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine
• Trade test certificate in your trade (diesel mechanic, fitter, electrician, boilermaker, instrumentation or rigger)

• Government Certificate of Competency studies in progress
• Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
• Flameproof equipment training for coal mines

• Study assistance for engineering qualifications
• Housing support in the mining town
• Tool allowance or company-issued toolbox

• Mention underground or flameproof experience clearly. It separates mine-ready artisans from factory artisans.
• Your trade test certificate must show the trade and the date. Keep a certified copy ready because mines verify it.
