Job Description

This diamond mine processing plant near Roodepoort needs a trade-tested artisan who is safe, quick and thorough on breakdowns. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a diamond mine processing plant in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Help with rope inspections and shaft maintenance during scheduled stoppages
Isolate and lock out machines under the site isolation procedure
Fault-find hydraulic, electrical and engine faults on trackless machines
Maintain pumps, fans and compressors in shafts and on surface
Repair and align conveyor belt drives, pulleys and idlers

Must-haves

Understands MHSA duties for artisans, including lockout and permits
Able to read schematics, hydraulic circuits or wiring diagrams
Certificate of fitness for underground or surface work
At least 2 years as a qualified artisan, preferably on a mine

Helpful, not essential

Experience with collision avoidance systems on TMM
SAP PM module experience
Flameproof equipment training for coal mines
