Bookkeeper to Trial Balance (Sage Pastel) – Permanent

You'll keep the books clean and up to date for a construction contractor in Durban Central. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a construction contractor in Durban Central. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Send customer statements and phone accounts that are over 60 days
• Post month-end journals for accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Keep the filing system in order for the annual audit or review
• Match orders, delivery notes and invoices before a payment goes out
• Capture supplier invoices and customer receipts on Sage or Xero
• Reconcile creditors statements and sort out differences with suppliers

• Practical skill in Sage Pastel, Sage Business Cloud or Xero
• Accurate with figures and careful with supplier bank details
• At least 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping or clerk work
• Matric with Accounting

• Experience with debt collection letters and handover to attorneys
• Registered with SAIPA or the ICB as a bookkeeper

• Thirteenth cheque at many small firms
• Hybrid work after probation at some practices
• Office hours with no weekend work
• Paid study leave for bookkeeping exams
