Boom Gate Controller (Industrial Park)

Residents and staff at a construction yard in Lephalale need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Lephalale, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register

• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Alert, polite and firm with the public

• Previous experience at a similar site type
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
