You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Sasolburg, and log every visitor properly. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Sasolburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events

• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Speaks and writes basic English

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
