Breakfast Waitron (Hotel Restaurant) – Fixed-Term

This is a floor job at a wine farm restaurant in Sandton where your tips follow your service. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Sandton. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
• Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.

• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus

• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Late-shift lift home within a set radius
• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly

• Walk in with your CV between 2pm and 4pm when managers have time, not during lunch or dinner service.
• Recruiters ask about a difficult table, so have one real story ready about how you turned it around.
