Job Description

Guests at this busy mall coffee shop in Vanderbijlpark come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a busy mall coffee shop in Vanderbijlpark. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What you'll actually do

Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.

What you need

Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
Quick with basic maths and card machines
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts

Helpful, not essential

Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
Responsible Service of Alcohol training
A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
