Building Site Supervisor (Commercial Projects)

This general building contractor in Rustenburg needs someone who can read the drawings and get a building out of the ground. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a general building contractor in Rustenburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Keep the site diary, daily labour returns and plant hours up to date
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection
• Plan the week's work from the construction programme and brief the gangs each morning
• Run toolbox talks and support the safety officer on Construction Regulations compliance
• Set out foundations, grid lines and levels with the surveyor or a dumpy level

• At least 5 years on building or civil sites, 2 of them in a supervisory post
• National Diploma or BTech in Building or Civil Engineering, or a trade background with site experience
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act

• Experience on JBCC or GCC 2015 contracts
• Concrete technology short course
