Building Site Supervisor (Commercial Projects)

You'll run the site day to day for the low-cost housing developer in Upington, from setting out to handover. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a low-cost housing developer in Upington. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check workmanship against drawings, specifications and SANS 10400
• Book NHBRC and municipal inspections at the right stages
• Measure completed work for monthly payment certificates
• Chair the weekly site meeting and record actions for the principal agent
• Check reinforcing, shuttering and cover blocks before calling for a pour inspection

• Good with MS Project or a similar programme tool
• You can read architectural and structural drawings and pick up clashes
• Working knowledge of the Construction Regulations 2014 under the OHS Act
• Code 08 licence and your own reliable transport between sites

• Vehicle allowance or company bakkie
• Cellphone and laptop supplied
• Project completion bonus linked to handover date
