Business Studies Lecturer (Private College)

Stand in front of a class of adults at a mining skills centre in Richards Bay and make the work make sense. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Richards Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a mining skills centre. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
• Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system
• Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
• Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
• Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners

• Good report writing and record keeping
• Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
• Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
• Own transport for training at client sites
• Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults

• Experience with QCTO occupational qualifications
• SDF registration and WSP/ATR submission experience
• Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education

• Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
• Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
• Travel allowance or company car for site training

• Say which unit standards or occupational qualifications you're registered for; this decides where you can be used.
• Show your industry years separately from your training years; providers need both.
