Calf Rearer (Dairy Farm)

You'll feed, milk and care for animals on a cattle feedlot near Rustenburg, every day of the year. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a cattle feedlot in Rustenburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Keep water troughs and drinkers working
• Feed animals the right ration at the right time
• Move animals between camps or pens calmly
• Clean pens, houses and milking equipment
• Record births, deaths and treatments in the herd book
• Follow biosecurity rules like foot baths and clean overalls

• Gentle and patient with animals
• South African ID or a legal work permit
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays on rotation
• Follows hygiene and biosecurity rules

• Supervisory experience for foreman roles
• Previous dairy or livestock experience
• Animal health or AgriSETA short course

• Training in animal health
• Farm housing on site
• Milk or meat rations
• Production bonus on milk yield or growth targets
