Candidate Attorney (Conveyancing and Property)

A small general practice law firm in Richards Bay has space for a law graduate ready to start practical vocational training. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll report in Richards Bay. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Attend court with counsel and take notes during trials
• Record your time on the practice management system every day
• Issue and serve documents at the magistrate's court and High Court
• Take instructions from clients and write clear attendance notes
• Study for the LPC competency-based examinations alongside the work

• LLB degree from a South African university
• Clear criminal record, as required for admission
• Proficient in Word, Outlook and legal research databases
• Willing to work late before trials and filing deadlines
• Good legal research and clear written English

• Paid PLT course fees at some firms
• Study leave for board exams
• Travel allowance for court runs

• Attach a short legal writing sample; firms judge candidates heavily on drafting.
