Job Description

This road agency project office in Bellville needs someone who can check a design and then go and check it was built right. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Bellville. Relocation is not covered for this one.

The work, day to day

Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Chair site meetings and handle contractor queries
Write design reports and handover documents
Prepare tender documents under GCC 2015 or NEC contracts

Must-haves

Good grasp of South African design codes for your field
Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision
BEng, BSc Eng or BTech in Civil Engineering
