Job Description

Clean water, safe roads and sound structures start with a good engineer at the bulk water utility in Epping. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a bulk water utility on the Epping side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What your day looks like

Design reinforced concrete and steel structures to SANS 10100 and SANS 10162
Apply for municipal wayleaves and building plan approvals
Design water pipelines, sewers and stormwater systems with hydraulic software
Check drawings from technicians and sign them for issue
Act as resident engineer: inspect works, measure quantities and certify payments
Write design reports and handover documents

You'll need

Registered with ECSA as a professional or candidate
Able to explain technical issues to clients and contractors
Code 08 licence and willingness to spend time on site
Experience with structural or hydraulic design software
At least 3 years in design or construction supervision

Helpful, not essential

Experience on public sector infrastructure projects
Registration with SAICE and active CPD
Master's degree in structural or water engineering
