Job Description

You'll design, protect and maintain electrical systems for the water treatment utility in Komani. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Komani. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
Set and test protection relays and keep settings records
Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date

What you need

Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
Able to write clear technical reports and specifications
At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

Extra points for

PLC programming certification
Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
