Candidate Electrical Engineer (ECSA)

Power has to be safe, reliable and legal. The water treatment utility in Pretoria West needs you to make it so. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Pretoria West-based, with most of your time spent at a water treatment utility. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Design LV and MV reticulation to SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-2
• Draw up tender specifications and bills of quantities for electrical works
• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Inspect installations and sign off compliance on completion
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097

• BEng or BSc Eng in Electrical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist posts
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating
• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate

• Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical, Factories or Mines)
• Protection or HV operating authorisation

• Vehicle allowance for site work
• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Paid professional registration and training
