Job Description

Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the quantity surveying practice in Benoni. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a quantity surveying practice in Benoni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What your day looks like

Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs

You'll need

BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

Extra points for

Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
Estimating software experience on top of Excel
