Candidate Quantity Surveyor – Permanent

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Khayelitsha. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Khayelitsha-based, with most of your time spent at a civils and earthworks contractor. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Take off quantities from drawings to build a bill of quantities
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings

• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• You know the Standard System of Measuring Building Work
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Travel allowance for site visits
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree
